Blogging After Learn 2.0

Before Learn 2.0, I think I may have read just a very few blogs in passing but never paid much attention to them. Now, I am noticing blogs everywhere and I am really finding it interesting what people have to say about certain subjects and issues. I think that I will continue to blog and now that I've been bitten by the blogging bug, I hope that there is a lot more blogging in my future. The good thing about this is that while you have computer access, you can communicate just about anywhere in the world. Stay in touch!

Weeks 11-13

I think that I have completed my Learn 2.0 experience! I hope to get an MP3 Player so that I can download my favorite tunes and take them with me whenever and wherever I travel the world. Yeah!!!!!! : )

Week 10 Podcasting

I was able to sign up and download a book from netlibrary. Now I will have to listen to it on my computer. I am looking forward to podcasting. It is a nice way to get information, music and other fun stuff.

Week 9 Digital Music

DRM or no DRM? That is the question! I think that artists have the right to limit the reproduction of their works of art, but some limitations should be exempt when a purchaser puts out his/her money for the material. The buyer should be able to reproduce it for their personal use in different mediums. With that said, it does open the door for mass production by pirates to capitalize on the works of the artist. It is a risk that they take as artists.
On another point, I think that Liveplasma is a really cool way to expand your musical portfolio. Finding my favorite artist and learning of like artist was quite interesting. It is another way to expand your musical horizons. It was also enjoyable to listen to Emily Wallace's music and appreciate the talent we had here at OCLS. Why was't she an OCLS idol contestant?
I'm still trying to figure out the widgit thingamagig. In the meantime, I found some music from one of my favorite artists. http://www.mystrands.com/album/66968

Week 8 Flickr

I was happy to work with my co-workers to explore Flickr together. I have used Flickr before and find it to be quite interesting and it can have many uses. We had fun deciding what pictures to take and which ones would be uploaded. I think it worked out pretty good. Check out our pictures. http://www.flickr.com/photos/8875477@N03/

Week 7 Fun Stuff

You can really find people on the web who are into the same things that you are. Like people can be found on any subject matter. Any interest can be explored, challenged and shared. The crafty people were the ones I was interested to find. Everyone can find someone who likes what they like.

Week 6 - Library Thing

There are lots of things I like about the library and I see that I am not alone. One of the things I found interesting about this exercise was that you could plug in your zipcode at www.propsmart.com and see what houses are available and priced at in your neck of the woods. I also visited MotorMapUSA and discovered that my dream car was not too far away. It was the $$$ that was out of my reach.

Week 5 Play Week

This was a fun , but disappointing week for me. I created a meez, but had no luck loading it to my blog, thus far. I will try again. This was an entertaining exercise for me. I got really creative with this product. I had been doing the lessons all along, but (silly me), I failed to post them to my blog each week. I am getting better at this now and I am trying to catch up and keep up. Meez.com

Week 4 Web.2.0 Defined

Some videoblogs are interesting, but most of them seem quite silly to me. Maybe I just "don't get it". However, I would like to recommend Charley's Steakhouse for a birthday dinner where two persons can eat for one if the birthday person can provide identifying documentation that it is their birthday. The one that I usually treat my friends to and visa versa is located on Orange Blossom Trail south of the South Trail Library just after Oakridge Road. It's a great place to celebrate.

Week 3 Finding Information

Nowadays, everything is readily available on line. There are all kinds of mediums to obtain information. I set up some RSS feeds for weather, etc. My way of learning is to read the dialog in parts while viewing the information as I go. Because this is so unfamiliar, it seems a bit jumbled if I try to read it all then try the suggested material. That seems to be working for me right now. I was interested in favors for all occasions and found this: http://live.grokker.com/grokker.html?query=Crafts&Yahoo=true&Wikipedia=true&numResults=250

Week 2 Introduction to Blogs

What is a blog and how can I use it? I have learned that I can use blogging to "get the word out on my thoughts". Wow, people want to hear my thoughts? Well lucky for them, I have a few. Setting up the blog was fun and I did it! Now, lets see where I can take it from here. Creating my account was not as scary as I thought it would be and I was inspired by Southwest's formatting for their blog.

Week 1 Sharing & Collaborating

Lifelong learning should be a lifelong goal, as we are never too old to learn something new. I am glad that this is a self paced project as it gives me some flexibility. As I am beginning to "feel the power", I'm ready to learn new tricks of the trade.

Where Have You Been? Share your travel highlights!

Do you love to travel? I love to travel. I want to circle the world, but want to hear about your travel experiences, the places to get on my "places to see before I die list" or places to avoid.
Any advice or commentary?
